In 2013 a number of Parkari girls completed their studies in primary schools which PCDP had set up in their villages. But there was no government secondary school near their homes.
Due to local security concerns, parents felt it had become too dangerous to send their girls away to PCDP’s Hostel. So these girls began studying at home, supervised by their local PCDP primary school teachers, and enrolled at one of PCDP’s more distant secondary schools for taking exams.
PCDP provides scholarships to help impoverished students cover the cost of books and provide an honorarium for their teachers.
